Switch Windows
Hold ⌥ and press ⇥ to see every window as a card, the most recent first. Let go of ⌥ and the one you picked comes forward, even from another Space.
Turn it on
Switch Windows is off to start. Turn it on in Settings → Switch Windows. The key is ⌥⇥; to change it, use the Switching row on the same page.
Permissions. Bringing a window forward needs Accessibility. Pictures of the windows need Screen Recording; without it, each card shows the app's icon. A grant made while Saiki is open is picked up the next time the switcher opens.
road keeps the ones that match, and letting go of ⌥ switches. While it's open
Keep holding ⌥:
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| ⇥ (⇧⇥ back) | The next window (or the one before). Holding ⇥ stops at the end of the list; a fresh press wraps around. |
| ← → ↑ ↓ | Move through the cards; up and down go a row at a time. |
| Let go of ⌥, or ↵ | Switch to the selected window. |
| esc | Close the switcher and stay where you were. |
| Typing | Keep only the windows whose title or app matches. ⌫ takes a letter off. |
| W | Close the selected window. The switcher stays open on the next one. |
| Q | Quit the selected window's app. |
| M | Minimize the window, or bring it back. |
| H | Hide the app, or show it again. |
| F | Put the window in or out of full screen. |
- The letter keys act only as the first key you type. Once a search is under way, every letter goes into it, so you can still type a W or an M.
- With the mouse: click a card to switch to it, scroll to move through them, middle-click a card or use its close button to close that window, or click outside the panel to close the switcher.
