Menu Bar Panel

Click Saiki's icon in the menu bar for a glass panel with your agents, Keep Awake, brightness, sound, your Mac's vitals, your tools and quick switches, in tabs you arrange.

Open it

Click Saiki's icon (the S) in the menu bar. The panel opens under it, over whatever you're working in, without bringing Saiki to the front.

Right-click the icon, or ⌃-click it, for Saiki's menu instead. If the panel is open, it steps aside first. The menu's contents are on Menu bar.

Close it

The panel closes when you:

What's in it

At the top, your agents: how many need you and how many are working, one row per agent with its logo, title and what it's doing, and Show Agents. Click a row to open that agent in the bar. This part shows only while agents are running.

Below are the tabs, one section at a time. At the bottom, Open Saiki, Settings, Permissions and Quit.

The tabs

TabWhat it shows
Keep AwakeA switch and a chip per duration: click a chip to start, click it again to stop. Until… picks an end time, and while a timed session runs, chips add more time. Also Keep Agents Awake and the closed-lid switch. See Keep Awake.
BrightnessA slider for each display that can change its brightness, and Extra Brightness where your display has it. See Displays.
Volume MixerYour output and microphone, then a volume slider for each app playing sound. Per-app volume needs the Screen & System Audio Recording permission; nothing is recorded. See Sound.
SystemProcessor, graphics and memory as percent bars, with temperatures, fans and uptime.
NetworkInternet speed and how much has moved.
DisksFree space and disk activity.
PowerBattery, charging, power use and battery health.
UtilitiesSaiki's tools, such as screenshots, the Cleaner and the uninstaller. Click one to open it.
ControlsSwitches for mouse, keyboard, Finder and window features. See below.
Quick TogglesOne-click actions: dark mode, mic mute, Empty Trash, eject disks, hidden files, desktop icons, lock screen, turn the displays off, screen saver.
WallpaperYour desktop picture, from Apple's pictures and your own. Add Images… and Add Folder… add yours.

A tab shows only while the feature behind it is on. System, Network, Disks and Power come from Monitors, and they read your Mac only while their tab is open.

Controls

Controls holds the background switches in three folded groups, Windows and Apps, Mouse and Keyboard and Files, each showing how many are on. Click a group to open it. Each switch is the same one as in Settings, so turning it on here starts the feature exactly as Settings would: mouse and scrolling, Finder cut and paste, ⌘Q and ⌘W protection, Dock clicks, Auto Quit and the Shelf. See Mouse, keyboard and Finder for what each does.

Quick Toggles

A toggle runs the same command as the bar. The ones that ask first, Empty Trash and Eject All Disks, close the panel and show their card in the bar, as do lock screen, displays off and the screen saver. The others leave the panel open, so switching back is one click away.

Arrange a tab

System, Network, Disks, Power, Utilities, Controls and Quick Toggles have an edit button next to their title. Click it and each row gets a drag handle and an eye:

Click the edit button again when you're done. Utilities shares its order and hidden tools with the Utilities list in the bar, where ⌘E edits the same list.

Settings

Settings → Menu Bar Panel starts with a picture of the panel, then a card for each list you can arrange:

CardRows
TabsEach tab, Shown or Hidden, and Tab order.
UtilitiesEach tool, and Utilities order.
ControlsEach switch, and Controls order.
Quick TogglesEach toggle, and Quick Toggles order.

Press ↵ on a row to show or hide it. Drag the rows, or press ⌥↑ or ⌥↓ on one, to change the order. ↵ on an order row puts the default order back. The panel always keeps at least one tab.

The menu bar icon

SettingWhat it does
Menu bar iconThe symbol Saiki shows in the menu bar: Saiki's S (the default) or one of a gallery of symbols. ↵ steps through them, and the icon changes at once.
Right-click the icon to turn Keep Awake on or offOff to start with. On, a right click turns Keep Awake on or off instead of showing the menu.
Can't find the icon?A crowded menu bar can hide the icon, especially on Macs with a notch. ↵ shows it again.

Turning it off

The switch at the top of Settings → Menu Bar Panel turns the panel off. Any click on the icon then shows Saiki's menu, and nothing of the panel runs.
